SOUTH OTSELIC – The last time Otselic Valley started the season 10-0, it went deep into the Section III playoffs, but head coach Dave Loomis was quick to point out there is still half the regular season to play.
“This is a good group of kids, like that 2001 team (that started 10-0),” Loomis said. “There still is a lot more basketball to be played.”
The Vikings led by 15 at halftime and by 25 after three quarters as Loomis unloaded his bench the final eight minutes. In that time, the OV reserves finished the game with a 16-0 stanza. “I was able to utilize some of the bench players who have not seen much time the last few games,” Loomis said. “Tonight, everybody that went into the game made a solid contribution. It was a real good showing and I was glad to have this game.”
Taylor Duell scored 12 points, David Cerasani tacked on nine, while Dillon Brown, Eric Wentworth, and Robert Guyer all had eight points for the Vikings.

SHERBURNE – Cooperstown completed its first run through the roster of Center State Conference foes unbeaten beating Sherburne-Earlville Thursday, the third straight defeat for the Marauders (3-5).
Quinn Snyder scored 11 of his 13 points in a 17-4 third quarter pushing the Redskins’ lead to 26 points. “They’re one of the top teams in the league year in and year out, and they are again this year,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “They were pressing and trapping in the third quarter, and Snyder was the the beneficiary of that.”
Brett Nelson and Dan Leet had seven points apiece for S-E, who are off until the Unadilla Valley Tournament next weekend.

NORWICH – Norwich surpassed 1,000 pins in every game and rolled a season-high 3,223 to beat the Black Knights at Plaza Lanes Thursday.
Coming off a big day earlier in the week in which he finished with a 739, Chasen Smith racked up his second 700 series in as many matches tossing a 707 to lead the Tornado. Dustin Jenkins added a 693, his second best effort this season, while James Glover tossed a 625 and Kyle Ewen a 611. “In our first game, we had only one miss by all five bowlers,” said Norwich coach John McCumiskey. “Wow!”

AFTON – Greene won all but one event to extend its Midstate Athletic Conference winning streak to 33 matches, Thursday at Afton/B-G.
Chris Osterwald moved from his normal events to take the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle. Patrick Kelsey also had a pair of individual wins. “Greene has a solid team, and they were able to move their swimmers around to off events,” said Makos coach Kevin Diefenbacher. “We only had six guys available tonight, but they are improving their times.”
Steve Howe won the 100 butterfly for Afton/B-G with a season-bes time of 1:05.90.
