Mother Nature closes out 2007 with dual snowstorms

CHENANGO COUNTY – It may not have been an overly white Christmas, but Mother Nature will ensure winter weather will be in full swing for the New Year. As last week brought spring-like conditions to the region, winter is here again just in time to ring in the New Year.

A snow advisory issued Sunday afternoon called for three to six inches of snow and was in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Monday. By 8 a.m. today, the snow advisory had been lifted early.

However, according to emergency management officials, another advisory could follow by mid-day.

“They are considering another advisory for a second storm coming in,” said City of Norwich Emergency Management Officer A. Wesley Jones.
