Freedom House or U.N.

Great idea from Investor’s Business Daily: Get out of the UN.
This is not the first time serious people have made that suggestion. Congress even has a few bills stuffed into the deepest reaches of its closets - bills that suggest we abandon the UN.
The politicians don’t get much pressure from voters to dig out those bills and vote on them. That is a pity.
The reasons we should dump the UN are many. And they are simple. The UN is corrupt. As rotten as an August melon in September.
The UN is filled with thieves. They skim tens of millions of dollars off various agency budgets. They extort millions from suppliers. They welcome bribes. They ran perhaps the biggest scam ever, the Oil For Food program. The money they stole was supposed to feed children.
That corruption is in the money department. In the morality department the UN is depraved. It fails to supervise the soldiers under its flag. And so they create prostitution rings among the women they are supposed to protect. They rape young girls. And the UN does virtually nothing to punish them or change their activities.
The UN turned its back on the genocides in Rwanda and Darfur. As a body it is beneath contempt. Under its banners it has allowed: Rape. Murder. Billions in fraud and embezzelement on a global scale. Money laundering.
The UN kisses the backsides of brutal dictators. And some of our politicians kiss the UN’s backside. Remember, John Kerry wanted to hand over the reconstruction of Iraq to the UN.
Meanwhile, the UN makes a mockery of human rights. It appoints the likes of Cuba and Libya and other degenerate countries to its human rights commissions.
And who does it berate for poor human rights? Israel. Top of the list, year after year. Does it criticize China? Nope. Not China, who wrote the book on abuses in human rights.
Does it criticize Cuba? If you lived in Cuba you could not travel to Miami to visit your family. If you criticized the government around your neighborhood you could easily land in a rat-infested jail. You would be stuck with the same leader for as long as he felt like it. (Imagine if our president had been so since 1959 and planned to hang around a few more years. Imagine if he could appoint whoever he wished to be your next president.)
Cuba is a prison. A prison. Does the UN light into Cuba on human rights matters? Not on your life. It goes after Israel. Does it point to Zimbabwe and North Korea as examples of barbarity toward human beings? Never.
This is how corrupt the UN is.
Recently the UN countries voted to increase the bloated budget of this corrupt disgrace by 10 percent. Only one country voted against the increase. The United States.
One of the reasons why we voted against the increase is that we pay nearly 25 percent of the UN’s dues. Many of the countries who voted to increase the spending pay no dues. Zero. Many others pay token amounts. The fat countries, especially the U.S., pay the dues.
Who can blame the poor nations for calling for bigger budgets? It ain’t their money. And with every swag of millions they add to the budget they increase the amount they can steal.
IBD suggests two things. “Let the tyrants and bureaucrats go home. Maybe we can form a new organization based on the 89 countries classified as ‘fully free’ by the nonpartisan human rights group, Freedom House. That would give us almost half of the UN’s 192 current members - a good start for a new beginning.”
We have funded the UN for 60 years. It is a disgrace. We should be ashamed to be associated with it. Our leaders should be ashamed to flush the hard-earned tax money of American workers down this toilet.
