Otselic Valley 60, Brookfield 57
SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley won its 16th straight game, and is off to the best start in head coach Dave Loomis’ 21 seasons in a barnburner with Brookfield Tuesday.
The Beavers rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit closing the gap to two points in the last quarter. Taylor Duell hit a free throw, and the Vikings made two defensive stops in the last minute to close out the victory. “We haven’t been in many games like this lately, and we really struggled to maintain our composure and regain momentum,” Loomis said. “Luckily we had enough to hang on.”
Dillon Brown, making his first start, was credited with outstanding defensive play against the Beavers’ point guard. He finished with seven steals to complement the scoring of David Cerasani (20 points) and Taylor Duell (15 points) Duell added eight rebounds and five steals to the mix.
