OXFORD – Oxford started the game on a 10-0 run, and finished the first half scoring the final 12 points en route to a blowout win over B-G Friday.
Scott Seiler and Jeff Champlin had 10 points apiece in the opening two quarters leading their club to a 34-12 advantage. “We came out in full-court man-to-man defense to get us moving and create tempo,” said Oxford coach Tim Davis. “We were able to get a lot of easy baskets off our defense.”
Seiler finished with 15 points and seven assists, Alex Champlin netted 14 points, and Jeff Champlin tacked on 12 for Oxford, who finished 30-for-57 from the field (52 percent).
Tim Feyerabend had 10 points for B-G.

CANASTOTA – Sherburne-Earlville notched its most comfortable win of the season outscoring Canastota 17-1 in the fourth period to improve to 5-1 season the Christmas break.
“We played some good team defense and didn’t give them any opportunities at second shots,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard.
Garrett Porack led S-E (7-8) with 20 points and eight rebounds, and Sean Boise had 10 of his 14 points in the second half. “When you win six games by only 16 points, you never anticipate anything being easy,” Vibbard said. “We opened (the lead) in the fourth quarter, and that allowed us to take a deep breath.”

“We read their defense well through most of the first half, but they continued to create chaos, and we reverted to some old habits,” said G-MU coach Bill Hartman.
Brian Edelstein led the winners with 19 points and Sean Huffstickler added 18.
G-MU’s Cody Hall had 10 points. The Raiders were only down 13 points entering the fourth, but failed to score a point in the last eight minutes.

MCGRAW – A defensive adjustment late in the first quarter turned the tide for the Vikings, who rolled to a lopsided win over McGraw Friday.
“They were right with us at the start of the game,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “They were getting to the basket, but once we stopped the penetration, in the process, we stopped their scoring.”
McGraw was held to just 10 points in the middle two quarters, and were outscored by the Vikings 37-10 in that span.
David Cerasani scored 17 points for OV and Robert Guyer finished with 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting and 11 rebounds. Guyer was also credited by Loomis for his defense against McGraw’s top big man. “Our defensive intensity was there all night, and the game turned in our favor in a hurry,” Loomis said.
