Wlasiuk back in court today

NORWICH – Accused murderer Peter M. Wlasiuk will be appearing in Chenango County Court today for additional pre-trial hearings.
Wlasiuk will come before acting Chenango County Court Judge Martin E. Smith at 10 a.m. at the County Court House.
Wlasiuk’s last court appearance was in August and he has been working his way back through the court system ever since his appeal in August of 2006.
Wlasiuk was arrested on April 8, 2002 and later found guilty of second degree murder for allegedly killing his wife Patricia. He was sentenced to 25 years to life, Jan. 3, 2003.
His conviction was appealed in 2006 and he has since been awaiting a retrial. His past indictment was later thrown out by Judge Smith, citing similar findings as the state Appellate Division in overturning the conviction.
Wlasiuk is currently being held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail. No trial date has yet been established by the court.
