Unadilla Valley 59, Greene 58
GREENE – Raffi Perry had a career night in one half, and his driving layup with 11 seconds remaining gave Unadilla Valley a one-point win over the hard-luck Trojans Wednesday.
Greene had a final possession, but its final shot twisted out of the rim. It was the second straight one-point loss for the Trojans, who dropped a 48-47 decision to Sidney last weekend. “We knew we could play with (UV), and we talked about wanting to have a chance to win at the end,” said Greene coach Jeff Paske. “We had a shot to win against Sidney and a shot to win tonight. They just didn’t go in.”
Perry scored 30 of his team’s 39 points in the second half to wind up with a career-high 36 points. While some of Perry’s baskets came easy, many did not. “On all of his threes, he hit them with a hand in his face,” Paske said. “Perry played well, we just needed him to miss one more shot.”
Dustin Turner had 16 points and eight blocked shots for Greene. Ben Adams grabbed 13 rebounds to go with his nine points, and Dan Carlin dished out eight assists and scored nine points.
Greene plays at Unatego Friday.

Norwich 42, Maine-Endwell 24
NORWICH – Norwich won its fourth dual meet of the season and second in STAC competition getting four forfeits from Maine-Endwell Wednesday evening.
“It’s nice to fill and lineup and easier to compete,” said Norwich coach Terry Hagenbuch. “Not filling the lineup hurt (M-E) tonight.”
Norwich picked up steam in the second half of the dual meet winning the final six matches. Cameron Turner (135), and Rick Reihl (130) had pins, while decisions went to Michael Hull (112) and Teddy Jerome (160). Norwich only suffered two losses by pin, and hosts Sidney tonight at 6 p.m. as it recognizes the four seniors on the team. “They have improved since the start of the season, which is what we are asking them to do,” Hagenbuch said. “We’re such a young team, but we’re starting to compete – even in defeats.”
