CHENANGO COUNTY – Hikers, bikers and other supporters of the long- proposed Chenango Greenway trail in Chenango County are invited to tour several sections of a similarly proposed trail corridor between Clinton and Hamilton on Saturday, May 3.

Chenango Greenway President Tom Holmes said he hoped trail enthusiasts from the greater Norwich area as well as members of the Friends of the Greenway and Bullthistle Hikers might participate in the event. “The Chenango Canal Association in Hamilon is making great progress on their section of trail,” Holmes said.

The Chenango Greenway Friends are working with the Chenango Canal Association, Parks & Trails and other state agencies to put together a recreational trail that would extend from Utica to Binghamton. The Greenway portion that passes directly through the City of Norwich would be an integral part of the trail, Holmes said.
