Unison, P&G receive awards

GREENE – Commerce Chenango has announced the 2008 award recipients that will be presented at the 49th Annual Dinner on Wednesday at the Silo in Greene. Unison Industries in Norwich will receive the Distinguished Business of the Year Award and Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals will receive an Award of Appreciation.

It is a testament to the company’s integrity for Unison Industries to be acknowledged as the Distinguished Business of the Year. Serving the aviation industry, Unison continually sets new standards for performance, technology, and support. By anticipating their customers’ needs and investing in research and development, Unison is able to stay ahead of the market and deliver cost-effective solutions that work.

Unison recently received OSHA’s Voluntary Protections Programs Star designation for being one of the safest companies in the entire country. Of the seven million eligible work sites in the U.S., Unison was one of only 1,869 that earned the designation. They are currently the “center for excellence” for the entire corporation for speed and temperature sensor production. Unison employs over 300 and are looking to increase their workforce yet again by the end of 2008.
