OTEGO – Unatego scored six runs in the fourth inning, and went on to hand UV its third straight defeat on Tuesday.
Kyle Palmer had an RBI double in the fourth, and Unatego picked up five of its 11 hits during the frame. Tyler Newman led the Spartans with two hits and two RBI. “They bunched their hits together in that inning, and all but one player in their starting lineup had a hit; they hit the ball up and down the lineup,” said UV coach Tom Locke.
Jake Curtis was 3-for-3 on the UV side, and Mike Bluy smacked a solo homer in the seventh.
UV hosts Walton today.

OV put together a four-run second and a five-run fifthframe to gain command of the contest. Chase Marsten had two RBI for the Vikings and Eric Wentworth was the lone OV player with two hits. Brian Graham logged seven innings picking up the victory. “We were just fortunate to bunch our hits together with their seven walks,” said OV coach Dave Loomis.

DOWNSVILLE – G-MU jumped on Downsville early scoring all of its runs over the first three innings to take a non-league victory Tuesday.
Tyler Wildfeir hit a two-run homer in the Raiders’ five-run first finishing 3-for-5 with three RBI. Tim Sloan, Andrew Delmar, and Alex Schmidt also had two hits to support the pitching performance of Delmar.
Making his first varsity start, Delmar fanned 16 and allowed just four hits.

Nate Sortino struck out nine in five innings of work for the victory. Robert Amor led with two hits including a two-run single in the third and a solo homer later in the game. Sortino, Jared Hueth, and Tom Gould also had two hits. “Our defense and pitching were definitely solid today,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “It was windy and we made some tough plays.”

Brooke Maynard led off with a single in the eighth, and scored the go-ahead run after Kristen Elliott’s double. Sarah Talbot and Charlee Weidman added ribbies in the frame. “We had a couple of tough losses last week and a couple more tough games last weekend,” said UV coach Eileen Lawyer. “This was a good way to get the week started.”
Elliott picked up the victory and finished with two hits and two RBI. Talbot and Weidman also collected two hits.

Craig Hebbard and Josh Clink, both of whom lost in three sets in match one, came back strong to overturn those outcomes. Hebbard took his match in straight sets, while Clink earned a three-set victory over Alex Throssell.
Devin Shapley and Ethan Buhl, who also dropped a three-setter earlier in the day, came back to win 7-5, 6-2 over Zach Meehan and Jeff Hartman. “It seems like everyone settled down,” said Greene coach Rich Karl. “They relaxed and were more consistent in the second match.”
