Oxford man sentenced to 10 years in state prison for sex acts

NORWICH – An Oxford man received a 10-year state prison sentence after pleading guilty to two criminal sexual acts against children.
Jason Heisler, 35, of Oxford, pleaded guilty to sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony, and criminal sexual act in the second degree, a class D felony.
Heisler, represented by his lawyer Linden Summers, stood before Supreme Court Judge Kevin M. Dowd Friday to answer several charges in an indictment handed up by the Chenango County grand jury.
The defendant was sentenced to serve two, five-year consecutive prison terms. He will also undergo at least six years of post-release supervision and must obey orders of protection for the two 13-year-old victims.
Heisler is also subject to DNA testing and is ordered to pay fines and surcharges totaling $2,100. He waived his right to appeal.
He must register as a sex offender following his release from incarceration.
