NORWICH – Staff at Chenango Memorial Hospital are celebrating National Hospital Week the week of May 11-17. This is a week designated by the American Hospital Association to celebrate the contributions of the nation’s nearly 6,000 hospitals and over five million dedicated staff members who “serve as beacons of hope in their communities.” Chenango Memorial’s Community Relations Director Garry Root explained that the professionals at Chenango Memorial will join the national celebration. “We want to show our employees and staff members our appreciation for the important work they do every day. We have some very special events planned to recognize their dedication and to let them relax and have some fun.”
Events include an employee ice cream social, free catered outdoor employee meal, employee health fair, free movie night for employees and their families, a karaoke opportunity, family bingo night, and walking event. In addition, there is an opportunity for co-workers and patients to contribute to the “thank you tree” erected in the middle of the hospital’s lobby.
Root explained, “This is a way to make a short positive comment about how any Chenango Memorial Hospital employees has done something special for you or a family member. If you have had extraordinary service and want to give a CMH employee a pat on the back, feel free to add your ‘thank you’ to the tree.” There will be plenty of hang tags for everyone to use for this.
The tree will be up from Monday through Sunday.
Root continued, “We want people to know that we value our employees and the people we serve. We thank everyone for their support, which helps to make Chenango Memorial Hospital the best little hospital in Central New York.”
