County takes action on timber sale, new AC unit, possible land sale
NORWICH – Lawmakers this week tentatively approved the highest bidder for an upcoming harvest of 2,500 red pine trees on county-owned reforestation land in the Town of Preston.
The woodlot’s highest bidder, Homer Logging Contractors of Homer, bid $29,579. Members of the Chenango County Agriculture, Buildings and Grounds Committee agreed to pass the resolution onto the full board of supervisors. Bids were received from one other lumber company.
The committee also tentatively approved the purchase of a $85,000 air conditioning unit for the county’s information technology department.
