Leadership graduation, Dan Marshman Award next week

GREENE – The Leadership Chenango Class of 2008 is set to graduate on June 12. The graduation ceremony and dinner will be held at The Silo Restaurant in Greene. In addition, the Dan Marshman Ag Leadership Award will be presented to Robert Briggs of Afton and Kenneth Dibbell of South New Berlin at the dinner prior to the graduation ceremony. The reception for the event begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m.
The program will begin at 7 p.m., with presentation of the Dan Marshman Ag Leadership Award. Both Bob Briggs and Ken Dibbell are perceived by area agriculture advocates as “visionaries in their leadership roles”. Bob’s nomination was focused on his work with local youth within organizations related to area fairs, where he has exemplified his dedication and vision that agriculture is a healthy business and preferred land use in Chenango County. Ken Dibbell’s nomination stated that Ken’s primary influence is on milk pricing, but that “he is well known by many for his opinions that impact decision making with movers and shakers in politics, industry, and the leadership of agricultural organizations.”
Additional highlights of the evening include guest speaker Mark Golden, of Golden Artist Colors, Inc., class speaker Thomas Holmes and the presentation of the class gift. Certificates of completion will be given to the Leadership class recipients by Leadership Advisory Board Chair and Alumni Tom Sutton.
