FIRST team hosts open house

Members of the local U.S. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team– T-Rx 145 held an open house for parents and supporters at the Norwich High School Tuesday night. In March, they competed against 40 top teams nationwide at the Rochester Institute of Technology and came home with the Rockwell Automation Innovation in Control award for the teams’ innovative control system. In May, the team went to Tunkhannock, Pa., where they competed in the annual PARC (Pennsylvania Robot Challenge) tournament and came home with a first place win. T-Rx 145 is made up of students and mentors from the school districts of Unadilla Valley, Sherburne-Earlville, Oxford, Bainbridge-Guilford and Norwich.
