Youth Bureau plans summer trips
NORWICH – The City of Norwich Youth Bureau has announced the destination for its two summer bus trips. The summer trips are free to children who are residents of the City of Norwich and Townships of Norwich, North Norwich, Plymouth, Preston and Pharsalia.
On Tuesday, July 15, the Youth Bureau will travel to the Ross Park Zoo and Discovery Center in Binghamton. The bus will depart from the City Hall in Norwich at approximately 9 a.m. and will return around 3 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend must register at the City Youth Bureau by July 9.
For the second bus trip, the group will travel to Secret Caverns in Cobleskill on Tuesday, July 29. Children who attend will travel deep into the underground caverns and have the chance to see ancient, natural underground caverns and caves and a 100 foot underground waterfall. The bus will leave City Hall at 10 a.m. and will return at approximately 4:30 p.m. Anyone attending should bring a sweat shirt, as the temperatures inside the caverns are cool. Open-toed shoes are prohibited. Sneakers with a good grip should be worn. Space is limited, and registration must be received at the Youth Office by 11 a.m. on July 21.
