Sherburne man charged with robbery

SHERBURNE – A Sherburne man was arrested Sunday and charged with burglary after an investigation into a break-in at Service Pharmacy in Sherburne.

Jeffrey J. Verry, 38, Sherburne, was arrested and charged with one count of third degree burglary, a class D felony. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Department arrested Verry and accused him of gaining entrance to Service Pharmacy, located on North Main Street in Sherburne, and stealing cash from within. Verry allegedly smashed the front door of the store to gain entrance and then began stealing the bank bags, which contained various amounts of U.S. currency. Detectives reportedly recovered approximately $3,000 from Verry’s residence.
