Oxford’s LaFayette Park welcomes Bluesfest band Thursday

OXFORD – LaFayette Park is the setting tomorrow at 7 p.m. for a swingin’ and rockin’ old fun time as the Mighty Lester Band kicks off the Chenango Bluesfest’s free summer concert series.
The Mighty Lester Band of Raleigh, N.C. is known for its cascading rhythm section of horns and stinging guitar. Begun as a trio in 2000, the band - and no one is actually named Lester – is celebrating its fifth year together.
“We are all about having a real good time playin’ music that makes people want to get up and dance and have a good time, too,” their press release says.
The free live show is a collaboration of the Chenango Bluesfest and Six on the Square.
