When you grow up in a big family, you get used to the constant drama that goes along with having so many relatives. It’s not that my family is ever going through anything that other people don’t, it’s just that when there are so many people to worry about, somebody is always going through something, and you start to see parallels between television soap operas and the events occurring right in front of you.

With five girls in a 10-year span, you might expect that growing up, there was a lot of commotion, a ton of fights and a long wait for the bathroom every morning. There were also two separate “missing persons” incidents. Of course, on both occasion, the “missing person” was never actually missing, just out for a walk or at the neighbor’s house. There were emergency room visits for everything from a sprained ankle to accidentally drinking household cleaners, and the number of sister vs. sister disputes was astronomical. Those events all seem rather quaint compared to the drama of our adult lives.

With all five girls now out of the house, you might think the drama would begin to slow, and that maybe a more calm and peaceful attitude would now prevail.
