Minor flooding reported in Coventry

COVENTRY – A large amount of rain fall in the past days has caused minor flooding to some of the roads in Coventry.

A flash flood warning was in effect for Chenango County this morning until 9:30 a.m. According to A. Wesley Jones of the Chenango County Emergency Management Office, precipitation amounts have varied greatly throughout the county, with some areas seeing as much as three and a half inches. Jones said flooding was reported on Route 235 in the Town of Coventry.

Town of Coventry Department of Public Works Superintendent Keith Ives said minor flash flooding had occurred throughout the town. Although he was still in the process of checking the roadways, he said he did not believe there was any major damage.
