Oxford celebrates its 200th birthday
OXFORD – Whether they were attending the parade, reuniting with classmates, enjoying the fireworks or singing along at 6 On The Square, Oxford’s current and former residents were out in force this weekend celebrating the village’s 200th birthday.
For many, the Bicentennial Celebration was more than just a birthday party. It was an opportunity for those with connections to the Oxford community to show pride in their hometown.
In the weeks and months leading up to the bicentennial, members of the local community worked tirelessly to plan all of the events that went into the weekend’s celebration. “So many people came together to make this happen,” said Oxford resident Jeanie Marshman. “It was wonderful to see so many people involved.”
