Top-three finish for Purple’s Kelly

OWEGO – Jacob Kelly finished third overall and earned a trophy as low sophomore medalist at the Nick DiNunzio Memorial Tournament to open the STAC golf season, Tuesday at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.
Kelly had two birdies on the front nine and holed a 60-yard wedge on the par-four 14th hole for eagle en route to a 2-over-par 74.
Johnson City’s Joe Ridulski (69) and Grant Gulick (73) finished ahead of Kelly, while Union-Endicott won the team scoring with a six-person 493 aggregate.
Norwich was 15th out of 17 teams shooting a 559. Eric Walling was next for Norwich carding an 89 and Ryan Hagen had a 92.
Norwich plays at Maine-Endwell Thursday.
