OXFORD – Oxford picked up where it left off at the end of last year when it made a surprise to the Section IV, Class C finals.
Blackhawks senior Amanda Brown connected on a header one minute into the second half for the go-ahead goal leading the Blackhawks past the Bulldogs.
Ashley Ballard and Kelli Whitehill added tallies for Oxford, and Misty Golden made three saves.

SHERBURNE – McGraw weathered repeated S-E scoring attempts to tie the contest, and held on for the 15th Annual S-E Tournament title Saturday night.
All-Tournament pick Nicole Law broke loose for the go-ahead goal tallying at 14:56 of the first half.
S-E, which fought back in its opening game, had three close-range scoring attempts over the final 10 minutes of the first half and in the opening minutes of the second half, and continually pressured in the McGraw defensive third for most of the final 40 minutes.
McGraw tallied the opening goal just two minutes into the game with Law setting up Kierra Mack.
S-E’s Jasmine Huff leveled the score 12 minutes later after a scramble in front of the goal.
In the consolation game, Mohawk dominated midfield play and handed Greene its second loss of the season. Megan McDermott scored unassisted for Greene.
Section III power McGraw answered Greene’s early lead Friday with three unanswered tallies to advance to the finals of the S-E Tournament.
Kierra Mack tied the game with 12 minutes left in the first half, and Nicole Law netted the go-ahead goal with 15 minutes left in the game following a misplay by Greene’s defense. Law added a header late in the game for insurance.
Megan McDermott put Greene on top in the first half getting a pass from April Small. “Their goalie was great,” said Greene coach Randy Smith. “It’s not too often a goalie stuffs two breakaways from Megan McDermott.”

EDMESTON – Amanda Peek’s second goal of the game with three minutes left gave UV a first-round tournament win over Margaretville Friday.
UV overcame Margaretville’s early lead getting first-half goals from Amanda Tumilowicz, Kara Collins, and Peek to lead 3-2 at the break. “We attacked the goal and distributed the ball well,” said UV coach Chris Bieniek. “It was nice to see us come right back after they scored.”

V-V-S’s Eric Booth scored the first of his three goals at 26:52, and Chris Brunscheen delivered the go-ahead tally at 11:08. “We saw some good things in spurts,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. “We made some little mistakes on the defensive end today that we didn’t do against Oneida.”
Oneida’s powerful offense was too much for the Marauders in their first-round tournament game Friday night.
Four different players scored for the Indians, who led 3-1 at the break and finished with a 30-3 shot advantage.
