Ingraham featured artist at NBT
NORWICH – NBT Bank’s Wall of Art is currently featuring the artwork of Irad Ingraham at the bank’s Norwich Office on South Broad Street. His work will be on display until late October.
Ingraham specializes in portraits, but his repertoire also includes landscapes, wildlife scenes and still lifes. To coincide with football season, his displayed paintings include highlights of Super Bowl XLII, in which the underdog New York Giants claimed a 17–14 victory over the undefeated New England Patriots in the most-watched football game of all time. This series, painted especially for the Wall of Art, includes Giants wide receiver David Tyree’s famous “helmet catch,” which helped set up the Giants’ winning touchdown in the final seconds of the game.
For its Wall of Art, NBT Bank is partnering with the Chenango County Council of the Arts to highlight the creativity of area residents. Council Executive Director Victoria Kappel said: “Irad is well known for his portraiture, but the public will see a different side of his painting with these field-level views of the Super Bowl.”
Ingraham, a resident of New Berlin, is a retired New York State Supreme Court Justice who paints full time. While serving as a judge in the New York City area, he studied at the Art Students League of New York in Manhattan. His work has been featured in American Artist magazine and the Catalogue of the Art Students League. His portraits are on display in corporate offices, hospitals, courthouses and private collections.
