Makenzie Williams grabbed a pair of first-place finishes for the Tornado (4-3-1), Ireland won the 100 backstroke, and Hayley Chwazik-Gee notched a first in the 100-yard breaststroke. “The girls have put in a ton of yardage, and I expected the times to be up a little bit,” said Norwich coach Amanda Downey. “We have a tough meet on Friday against Chenango Forks, and we need to bring our ‘A Game.’”

OXFORD – Oxford toppled Afton’s run at a perfect regular season handing the Crimson Knights their first loss Wednesday afternoon.
The Blackhawks scored seven minutes into the first half – their only shot – when Chantel Crandall’s free hit from outside the penalty circle was deflected in by Jenna Farwell.
It was the fourth straight win for Oxford (8-7-2), three of those victories coming against teams it lost to earlier this season. “I haven’t seen the girls this excited all season, they were ecstatic with the win,” said Oxford coach Melissa Chrystie. “Our defense did a great job and Alyshia (Crawford) made some phenomenal saves.”
