Winter weather advisory in effect

NORWICH – Snow returned to Chenango County this morning, and with a storm system moving toward the area, more rain and snow is expected this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, the snow will continue until early this evening before tapering off to scattered snow showers.

A winter weather advisory has been issued and is expected to remain in effect until approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday. The heaviest snowfall will be restricted to the hilltops. The NWS is predicting total snowfall of one to four inches in the valleys and three to seven inches at higher elevations. In addition, winds of 20 to 25 miles an hour are possible.
