S-E, Oxford, UV-E gridders wrap up season tonight

Sherburne-Earlville, Oxford, and Unadilla Valley-Edmeston each take the field for non-league Thursday games to wrap up their 2008 seasons. The following are previews of each contest:
Sherburne-Earlville (3-5) vs. Little Falls (3-4), Thursday, 5 p.m. at Sauquoit Valley High School
Sherburne-Earlville is coming off a dismal offensive performance in which it totaled just 119 total yards off offense in a shutout loss to Cooperstown last Saturday. The Redskins scored their first touchdown on the strength of a broken play. On a fourth-and-17, a bad punt snap forced a scrambling run that went for 18 yards to extend the drive. “Our offense needs to step up this week,” said S-E head coach Mick James. “Our defense has played well enough for us to win the last three weeks.”
