Norwich District Office prepares for move to new offices

NORWICH – The Norwich City School District will be in their newly completed office suite at the Middle School before Thanksgiving. Boxes line the hallways of the district’s current accommodations on the fourth floor of the Eaton Center in preparation for the long-awaited move.
According to Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan, the official move from the Eaton Center to the High School/Middle School campus will take place on Friday, Nov. 21. Staff will use that weekend to get settled in.
“We’ll be up and running in the new offices by Monday, Nov. 24,” reported O’Sullivan.
To keep the stress level of the move low, O’Sullivan said they will slowly bring over most of the furniture and boxes prior to Nov. 21.
“We brought the staff over yesterday to see their exact location in the new space,” said the superintendent on Wednesday.
O’Sullivan is looking forward to the proximity to students the new office space will allow.
“It’s the place where central administration should be,” he said. “There will be a lot more interaction with faculty and students.”
The district had originally planned on making the move in August before the start of the current school year, but were unable to do so because construction on the wing was not complete.
