Mike and Ruthy: The Honeymoon Agenda CD tour at the EOH Arts Café
EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House welcomes a fabulous folk-string duo to the EOH Arts Café at 8 p.m. Friday.
After seven years of touring internationally with Indie string band The Mammals, Michael Merenda and Ruth Ungar Merenda (a.k.a. Mike and Ruthy) have struck out on their own, creating a gorgeous new acoustic folk recording on their label, Humble Abode Music.
“This simply beautiful, organically crafted (and well-titled) session references the Mammals’ neo-string band tack and folk roots (fiddler and guitarist Ruthy is the daughter of famed fiddler Jay Ungar) and also brings a trough of more contemporary influences...” as reviewed in the Chronogram 2/08. Another reviewer in the Cleveland Scene reminds all: “Let’s also not forget that Ruth Unger, like Alison Krauss, has a terrific set of pipes and the ability to wring every drop of soul from her fiddle.”
Mike and Ruthy last played at the EOH in 2006 as part of the Mammals! Come celebrate their new CD release, The Honeymoon Agenda, at the EOH Arts Café on Friday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12, $10 EOH Members and $7 Student. The Café will have reserved seating for this performance, and seating is limited to 50, so call early to reserve a seat!
