Norwich swimmers come up short

Susquehanna Valley 92, Norwich 91
NORWICH – Susquehanna Valley, despite dropping nine of 12 events, was able to use its superior depth in most events to edge the Purple Tornado Friday night at Echentile Natatorium.
Clinging to a one-point lead over Norwich entering the penultimate 100-yard breaststroke, the Sabers used a one-three-four finish to build a seven-point edge and just about clinch the victory.
“We have some quality swimmers, we’re just lacking some experience,” said second-year coach Jon Aikins, who said that nearly half the roster has little or no varsity experience. “Overall, we performed fairly well.”
Dan Wenzel, Trey Ostrom, andTalon Schroeder topped the Tornado with four overall wins – two individual events and two relays. Ryan Cambron contributed a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
