B-G 46, Walton 42
BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge-Guilford warded off Walton’s fourth-quarter comeback effort putting the game away in the final 10 seconds.
Holly Reynolds’ third three ball of the game drew Walton to within 43-42. B-G freshman Randi Conway was then sent to the foul line in a one-and-one situation with 10.4 seconds left. Conway nailed the first free throw, but after missing the second, teammate Kim Brown put back an offensive rebound for the final margin.
“At that point, I had to take a chance and leave a rebounder on the foul line,” said B-G coach Bob Conway. “If we were already leading by four points, I would have pulled all of my kids back on defense.”
B-G built a nine-point lead on the strength of Dani Conway’s 23 points. Conway scored all 14 of her team’s points in the second quarter, while the Warriors kept pace hitting three three-pointers in the stanza. Conway added nine rebounds and five assists, while Chelsea Rosa pocketed four steals. “Walton is very good defensively and really works hard,” Conway said. “We have some young kids in our lineup, and some nights they’ll play well, and other nights there’ll be some growing pains.”
B-G (2-1) hosts Delhi Thursday.

Maine-Endwell 59, Norwich 47
NORWICH – Maine-Endwell kept up a speedy pace in the first half to grab an eight-point halftime lead, and while the Tornado slowed the Spartans over the final two quarters, they were unable to make up the deficit.
Nicole Osovski and Megan Touhey each had nine points in the opening half to key a 39-31 lead. Osovski finished with 16 points and Touhey 10.
“It took us a while to get used to the pace of the game,” said Norwich coach Krista Porter, who said her team committed 15 of its 22 turnovers over the first two quarters. “What it came down to is that they had more runs then we did, and they hurt us on the boards. They had too many second and third chances.”
Norwich dropped its third straight contest after an opening win over Vestal. Boyan Cox had nine points and Hannah Runyon eight. Elisha Eddy was held to four points – 15 below her season average – but did lead Norwich with 10 rebounds.
“We did a better job against their pressure in the second half and had decent shot selection,” Porter said. “Not as many shots were falling, and we didn’t get to the foul line as much.”
Norwich hosts Owego Wednesday.
