Greene man charged with additional sex crimes

GREENE – A Greene man who was netted in a international child porn sting by federal agents and by the Greene Police Department has been brought up on additional charges by local investigators.

Charles A. Robbins, 50, of 27 North Chenango Street in the Village of Greene, has already been brought up on federal charges for allegedly trafficking child pornography through his computer.

Robbins is now being charged in the Village of Greene Court for having possession of child pornography and incest, both felonies.

“He’s already facing 15 to 16 years on the federal charges but if for some reason he doesn’t get convicted then we have these charges. It’s our security blanket,” said Greene Police Chief Steven Dutcher.

F.B.I. agents and Greene Police Officers stormed Robbins’ residence Dec. 12 executing a no-knock search warrant after federal agents allegedly tracked the transfer of child pornography from an Italian distributor to his computer.
