Tornado secures first win of season in final event

Norwich 93, Chenango Valley 88
NORWICH – Norwich secured its first meet win of the season placing first and third in the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay, Tuesday night against Chenango Valley.
First place was never in doubt in the last event with Talon Schroeder, Ryan Cambron, Trey Ostrom, and Dan Wenzel cruising to a 29-second. The battle for the all-important third-place points came down to the final leg. Norwich, down by four seconds at the start, came away with the one-second victory behind the efforts of Jeffrey Downey, Jared Kirkland, Trevin Cruz, and anchor Jordan Dietrich.
Cambron, Wenzel, and Ostrom all had four total victories on the day. Mike Reilly was a double individual winner taking the diving competition and the 100-yard breaststroke.

NEW BERLIN – Norwich spoiled Unadilla Valley’s senior recognition night with a non-league dual meet victory Tuesday.
Norwich established command at the oustset with Tanner Cummings (103) and Mike Hull winning by pinfall. Cameron Miller, Walter Marvin, and Cody Bradbury subsequently received forfeits to create a 30-0 bulge.
The Storm gained solace when its honored seniors, Todd Wilcox, Justin Peek, and Justin Sigler earned wins. Wilcox (152) won by forfeit, while Sigler (171) and Peek (189) picked up matching 9-2 decision wins.

Don Philhower led S-E with a 640 series, and Andrew Symonds added a 621 triple.
