Norwich 5, Chenango Forks 2
NORWICH – Norwich returned to the familiar confines of Plaza Lanes Monday afternoon, and defeated Chenango Forks for the first win of the new year.
Freshman Ben Barnes, making his first varsity start, opened with a 246 perfect game, had just two misses the entire day, and led the Tornado with career-best 644 series. Anchor Dustin Jenkins tossed a 601 triple highlighting the Tornado effort.
Norwich is at Susquehanna Valley Thursday.

WATERVILLE – Sherburne-Earlville avoided a sweep taking the third game in a 25-21, 25-14, 23-25, 25-20 loss at Waterville Monday.
Kaitlin Korver had six aces and four kills for S-E, and Brittany Knickerbocker chipped in with four assists and seven aces.

OXFORD – Afton regrouped after losing the first game to Oxford winning in four games, 17-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-19 Monday.
Alyssa Pease had nine aces and six digs for the Crimson Knights, and Michelle Baisley put away eight kills.
Kristi Shepherd led Oxford with six aces and four aces. Christine Brussell added five kills and three aces.
The Blackhawks (2-5) visit Hancock Wednesday.

NEW BERLIN – Victoria McClenon had six kills and five aces for Walton, and Erin Boyd topped the Warriors with 10 kills in a 25-19, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23 win at Unadilla Valley Monday.
Cassie Markham led UV with 12 assists, and Brooke Maynard posted a team-high eight kills in the loss.
