Oxford, Greene volleyball teams split weekend games

OXFORD – Oxford snapped B-G’s three-game winning streak Friday night edging the Bobcats in five games, 15-25, 25-14, 17-25, 25-22, 25-23.
Marlena Frank had nine kills for Oxford, and Kristi Shepherd added six assists, five aces, and five kills.
Alli Roosa had 23 kills and seven aces for B-G (3-6).

OXFORD – Greene rebounded from Friday’s loss to defeat Oxford Saturday afternoon, 30-28, 25-9, 25-21.
Devyn Staley picked up 13 kills, and Haley MacLaren charted 20 assists.
Marlena Frank put away five kills for Oxford (4-7) and Deanna Jones served three aces.

GREENE – Delhi improved to 10-1 on the season Friday night defeating Greene in four games, 25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 25-5.
Tiffany Hall led at the net for the Bulldogs with 12 kills and two stuff blocks.
Haley MacLaren finished with 11 assists for Greene (7-4), while Devyn Staley racked up 11 kills and two blocks.

Boys’ Bowling

JOHNSON CITY – Norwich ran into a hot Owego team that posted a three-game score well over its average, and the Wildcats swept three games for the Friday shutout.
Sam Monday had a 594 series for Norwich, who had all five bowlers in the 565 to 594 range.
Norwich hosts Owego Tuesday.

Josh Llewellyn added a 698 series and Andrew Symonds a 602 triple.
