GREENE – Greene finished off a 19-0 regular season, the first in 15 years, with a dominating victory on senior recognition night.
Seniors Barb Borst, Megan McDermott, and Megan Kinne combined for 19 points in a 23-1 first quarter. McDermott had 10 in the opening quarter.
“We’ve played well the last three weeks, and since we came back for the second half of the league schedule, we’ve shot the ball at a real good clip,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “Tonight we shot the ball well on the inside and outside.”
Borst led the Trojans with 19 points, McDermott had 13, and Kinne pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Greene faces Harpursville a week from Saturday at 6 p.m. at SUNY Oneonta for a second straight MAC championship.

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville’s five seniors finished their final regular season game in style.
Megan Record, Sam Crandall, Brenda Hoefler, Karli Harris, and Lea LoPresti started Thursday night’s game, and the fivesome led their team to a 25-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Harris hit a trio of three-pointers, and Hoefler scored eight points on her way to a career-high 16 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals. Record finished with 13 points and six boards, Harris 11 points, and Crandall netted nine points and pocketed four steals.
“They did a fantastic job,” said S-E coach Karen Mulligan of her senior class. “It was a nice way for them to go out.”
The victory moved the Marauders to 16-4 on the season to tie the school’s team-record for victories in a season. “We’ve been playing well the last couple of games, which is the way you want to end a season,” Mulligan said.
The Marauders will likely host a Section III playoff game a week from Friday against a team to be announced.
