Beaudoin, MacKenzie re-elected in Smyrna
SMYRNA – In an uncontested election Wednesday, Village of Smyrna Mayor Joseph Beaudoin and Trustee Bruce MacKenzie were re-elected to their positions. Beaudoin and MacKenzie each received a total of 17 votes.

GREENE – As of April 1, the Village of Greene will have a new justice, according to the results of Wednesday’s election. Republican newcomer Michael Dietrich defeated incumbent Dante Acunto by a margin of just 13 votes. While 1,018 residents are registered voters, only 121 cast ballots in the election. Of that number, 67 voted for Dietrich and 54 for Acunto.
Mayor Marcia Miller, Village Trustee Ron Williamson and Trustee Rod Andrews all ran unopposed for their positions. They received 86, 97 and 91 votes, respectively.
Dietrich and the others will be sworn in to their positions at the village’s organizational meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. on April 1.
Campbell retains mayoral post in Earlville
EARLVILLE – The unofficial results are in for the Village of Earlville elections, and with no opposition, the three candidates on the ballot won the positions they were vying for.
When the polls closed at 9 p.m. last night, the Madison County Board of Elections reported the unofficial results. Returning Mayor Toni Campbell received 92 votes. Returning trustee Gerald “Doc” Hayes received 95 votes, and new trustee Henry Moore, who will be filling the spot vacated by Kim Boomhower, received 76 votes. The board of elections reported that no write-in votes were received, but they still have to tally the results of approximately 12 absentee ballots.
