Man charged with felony after domestic dispute leaves more than $1,500 in damages

NORWICH – The Norwich Police Department arrested a Norwich man after he went on a rampage during a domestic dispute, smashing over $1,500 worth of property and allegedly holding a female victim against her will.
Police responded to the incident Saturday at around 12:30 p.m. and arrested 25-year-old Daniel J. Sharpe Jr. of South Broad Street.
He is charged with second degree criminal mischief, a D felony, second degree unlawful imprisonment, a misdemeanor, and second degree harassment, a violation.
Police said an excess of $1,500 of property was found destroyed at the victim’s residence and that Sharpe had bitten and restrained the woman, preventing her from leaving the home to contact police.
The woman suffered no serious injury, police said.
Sharpe was arraigned in Norwich City Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $2,500 bail. He will appear in court again at a later date.
