Children’s clothes needed at Greene Community Clothing Bank
GREENE – The Greene Community Clothing Bank is there for those in need, providing free clothing for kids and adults in every imaginable color and size. With the current economy, clothes are in even more demand and the bank’s normally filled racks and tables are starting to look bare, particularly in the children’s department.
“If anyone has any quality kids clothing, it would be appreciated,” said Village of Greene Trustee Rod Andrews, who put out the call to his fellow trustees and the community during this week’s village meeting.
According to Andrews, clothing appropriate for spring and summer are needed currently, but other items are always welcome. Only donations which are clean, and free of stains and tears are accepted.
“There is a big need right now,” said Trustee Wayne Hartley.
The Greene Community Clothing Bank, 49 Genesee St., is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Donations are accepted during those hours or by appointment.
