Local studio filmed for DanceLifeTV.com
NORWICH – A cinematographer from a new Internet website called DanceLifeTV.com spent the weekend in Norwich filming the choreographers and dancers of the Amber Perkins School of the Arts.
DanceLife Director Mikeal Knight said a segment featuring the national award winning studio will appear on the show’s website in May. The site is produced by the Rhee Gold Company of Boston, a leader in the performance arts industry, founder of American Dance Awards competitions, and publisher of Dance Studio Life magazine.
“We are very excited to be here because Amber is an incredible talent who is well known, absolutely, in the dance world,” Knight said.
Segments on the website will feature dance studios, students and teachers from around the nation. The film crew traveled to the Dance Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs prior to the stop in Chenango County, and travels next to dance destinations in Richmond, Virg., Oklahoma City and Chicago.
Dancers rehearsed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, putting the finishing touches on choreography numbers that will be judged in competition in Binghamton on May 8-10. News of the film crew at the studio sparked a buzz of anticipation.
“We’re going to be on TV!” said 15-year-old dancer Alayna Krug of Norwich. “I’m so excited!”
