Local teen struck by truck in Norwich
NORWICH – Emergency crews responded to an accident scene involving an 18-year-old Norwich girl being struck by a pick-up truck around 4 p.m. Thursday in the Town of Norwich.
The Norwich Fire Department responded to the scene and the Norwich Ambulance rushed the teen victim to Wilson Regional Medical Center in Binghamton, where she is in unknown condition. The Sheriff’s Office reported that the woman suffered leg and head injuries.
The accident took place on Route 320, in front of the Sheffield Pharma Ingredients facility, formerly known as Kerry-Bio Science.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and have not yet issued any tickets or released the name of the victim. However, deputies said the 23-year-old driver was Eric Stratton of Norwich.
