Parcels up for tax sale

CHENANGO COUNTY – Property owners saved more than half of their properties that were headed to the chopping block at Chenango County’s upcoming annual tax sale. Only 55 of the 121 delinquent parcels previously identified remain up for grabs.
Bid packets are available to the public next Monday, May 11. The final day to place a bid is June 23, and the tax sale is scheduled for June 25 at the Chenango County Office Building.
There are six parcels each available for purchase in the towns of Greene and Guilford; five in the Town of New Berlin; four each in the towns of Bainbridge, Smyrna and Otselic; three each in the towns of Smithville, Oxford and Afton; two each in Coventry, German and McDonough; and one each in the towns of Lincklaen, Preston, Pitcher, North Norwich and Pharsalia and the villages of Oxford, Greene, Bainbridge and Afton.
There are none for sale in the towns of Norwich, Sherburne, Columbus, German or Smithville, nor the City of Norwich.
