MORRISVILLE – Sherburne-Earlville won its eighth straight game and is two wins from clinching a Center State Conference division title after routing Morrisville-Eaton Monday.
Caleb Brown pitched four spotless innings for his sixth win of the season. He did not allow an S-E baserunner and he struck out eight of the 12 batters he faced.
Mike Doscher and Stephen Buddenhagen provided a good chunk of the offense driving in five runs apiece. Brown, Buddenhagen, and Mike McCredy all had three hits for the Marauders (11-3), who host Ilion on Wednesday.

OXFORD – Oxford maintained a one-game division lead in the loss column getting a complete-game two-hitter from senior pitcher P.J. Hubman Monday.
Hubman didn’t allow a baserunner past second base until the seventh inning striking out 13 B-G batters.
At the plate, Hubman popped a solo homer in the third inning for the first run of the game. In the sixth, Eddie Grundner scored on a botched squeeze play, and John Corbett added a two-run single. “Both pitchers (Hubman and B-G’s Paul Parsons) pitched well today,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “P.J. had good control and he did a nice job of mixing speeds.”

Andrew Delmar, coming off back-to-back shutout wins, pitched five innings allowing just one unearned run. Delmar, Cody Hall, and Corin Todd all had three hits apiece for the Raiders with Hall and Todd driving in three apiece.

DERUYTER – DeRuyter defeated OV for the second time in a week’s time scoring two in the last of the seventh for the victory.
After squeezing in the tying run, John Karp’s bases-loaded single with one out plated the Rockets’ winning run.
“We were looking pretty good going into the seventh, but we had trouble finding the strike zone,” said Vikings coach Dave Loomis.
Brad Wentworth had two hits and two RBI for the Vikes, while David Cerasani had two hits and one ribbie.
OV hosts Cincinnatus today.

Dave Fors and Scott Gorton had two hits and two runs scored apiece. Brendan Kinne, save a rocky third inning, was sharp in a route-going victory.
“After that third inning Kinne was great,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “They (Delhi) were trying to beat themselves (with errors), and we let them. You have to take advantage of those situations.”
Delhi finished with seven errors, a sharp contrast to the Trojans’ flawless defensive performance.

NEW BERLIN – Phil Hanley set the tone for Walton with a home run to lead off the game, and UV made three errors behind that homer to fall behind early in Monday’s tilt.
The Storm countered in the bottom half of the first inning with three extra-base hits to score two of their three runs. John Lopez doubled, Ian Davis tripled, and Justin Peek doubled.
After the third inning – and Walton leading 8-2 – UV lefty hurler Frankie Schroeder settled in allowing just a single run over the final four innings. “It was a well-pitched game for both teams, especially the last four innings,” said UV coach Tom Locke. “(Schroeder) located his curveball better, and his control was there the whole game.”

Derek Keesler’s flare to the outfield scored the tying run for Hancock in the fifth, and Jeremy Wormuth stroked a go-ahead RBI double. Evan Whitmore tacked on an RBI fielder’s choice for the two-run margin.
“We made four errors and a lot of mental errors. They all hurt,” said Afton coach Ron Rapp. “Hancock did its job today, and we didn’t do ours.”
