Oxford Library hosts first Poetry Slam

The Oxford Memorial Library hosted its first ever poetry slam Thursday night at the library. Judging the event were Bill Brower, Dan Wilcox, Nancy Wilcox, Autumn Markowski and Naomi Cronk. Competing with their poems, in two rounds, were Norwich High School poetry team members: Josette Felicies, Nicole Wellman, Jennifer Elder, Chelsea Trottier, Patty McNeil, Natasha Brower, and Lane deCordova. Community members Doris Seeley, "Diesel Dan" Wilcox, Leah Murray and Hannah Lowe also participated. Prizes were awarded to eight winners. Taking first place was Lane deCordova, a freshman from Norwich High School.
