Sherburne’s Music In the Park celebrates 20th season

SHERBURNE – The twentieth season of Sherburne Rotary’s Music in the Park is currently underway with free shows by multiple performers every Wednesday until Aug. 5. The performances begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8:30 in Gaines Park.
With several returning musicians and a few that are new to the lineup, this year’s events are sure to entertain one and all.
The next show will be held on July 8, with a performance by Woods Tea Co., a stalwart of the Music in the Park series. According to Sherburne Rotarian Marsha Guzewich, the band encompasses all aspects of a great show, including “fine musicianship, tight harmonies, quick qit and rapport.”
In addition to Guzewich’s comments about the band, she explained some of the long-standing traditions of the Music in the Park series. “People bring their own chairs or blankets, arrive early to get great seats and wait for the french fries to come out of the fryer.” Food will be available from the Sherburne Rotary and Gilligan’s Island. Those in attendance are also welcome to bring a picnic dinner if they chose.
The Music in the Park festival is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in Sherburne this summer. As Guzewich said, “Make it a point to listen to at least one, if not all of these wonderful concerts, this summer in beautiful downtown Sherburne. You will not regret it.”
The concerts will be held rain or shine. In the event of a downpour, the concerts will be moved to an indoor location.
The rest of Sherburne Rotary’s Music in the Park series will feature:
July 15 – The Tweedlers
July 22 – Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys
July 29 –  Smyrna Citizens Band
August 5 – Skyline featuring Cassidy Lynn.
