OXFORD – Oxford’s Otsenango Pony League team improved to 5-1 on the season beating Greene Thursday, 7-2.
Pitchers Nate Head (four innings) and Andrew Golden combined on the victory for Oxford.
Eric Dilfer’s two-run single capped a five-run first inning to give Oxford the early advantage. “Without a doubt, our pitching and defense have been the cornerstones of ourfive-game winning streak,” said Oxford coachJim Champlin. "After the first inning we played error-free ball and walked only three Greene hitters over seven innings.”
Oxford is slated to host Bainbridge July 13.
