Norwich Dance Club entertains at Veterans’ Home
NORWICH – Members of the Norwich Dance Club, a local community group, entertained residents of the New York State Veterans’ Home this month. Dance Club members performed classic ballroom pieces from Foxtrot to Cha-Cha, and also danced to the steamy Latin Ballroom selections such as Cha-Cha and Merengue.
Martha Ryan, volunteer and club events coordinator commented about the event; “Our group of volunteers took great pride in this performance, practiced for weeks to deliver a special entertainment event for our beloved seniors.”
The one hour performance was held at the Piano Lounge with over 20 residents present. “The Norwich Dance Club has a community outreach element that allows us to bring entertainment to hospitals and senior homes. We are very proud of this component of our club activities and invite people in the community to contact us if they wish to participate in future programs,” said Ryan.
The Norwich Dance Club is a community group that meets every Friday to learn and enjoy the art of ballroom dancing. The Club is currently on summer vacations and will resume their weekly meetings on Sept. 18. More information about this group can be found at their website at www.norwichdanceclub.com.
