Mt. Upton teen killed in early Sunday morning crash

GUILFORD – A Mt. Upton teen was killed Sunday when a van he was driving veered off the right side of the roadway and struck an unoccupied, parked SUV, sitting along the shoulder.
Driving alone at approximately 4:10 a.m. 19-year-old Christopher J. Fuller was traveling north on State Rt. 8 in the Hamlet of Mount Upton when his vehicle left the roadway, just barely missing a telephone pole before colliding into the rear of the parked SUV, reported the New York State Troopers Monday
He was later pronounced dead at the scene by Chenango County Medical Examiner John Cruz. Police said Fuller was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
Police said they had not yet finished conducting their investigation into the fatal crash.
Fuller grew up in the Mt. Upton and Norwich area and had attended Norwich and Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton Schools.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
A full obituary for Fuller can be found on page 6 in today’s Evening Sun.
