NBT cuts ribbon on Hamilton House renovations

NORWICH – NBT Bancorp conducted a ribbon cutting Wednesday at the Hamilton House located at 68 South Broad St. in Norwich. The event marked the completion of extensive renovations at this building to create new office space for the company’s bank and insurance operations.
The Hamilton House was completely renovated inside and out over a nine-month period. Exterior improvements included new energy efficient windows, siding, paint and exterior lighting. Interior improvements included new heating and cooling, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as new interior finishes and furniture. The building also has new phone and alarm systems. Over 40 employees are now located in the Hamilton House, including staff from NBT Bank’s Credit Administration Division and accounting and administrative staff from Mang Insurance Agency.
NBT Bancorp President and CEO Martin Dietrich said, “In addition to providing new office space to support our Norwich-based operations, the completion of the Hamilton House project represents the culmination of a multi-year commitment by the bank to update the four buildings that house our corporate headquarters in Norwich. These renovation projects have been a major activity for our company, and we are proud to have invested in our buildings in support of our employees and the community.”
