Lindsay Drake took this photo during Tuesday evening’s powerful storm, the outline of what appears to be a funnel cloud is seen in the sky line at about 5:30 p.m. over Polkville Hill in the Town of Norwich.
Emergency Management Officer A. Wesley Jones said the National Weather Service reported powerful thunderstorm activity Tuesday that was associated with brief power outages and downed trees in the Oxford, Greene and Norwich areas, but no reports of tornado activity had been received. He went on to explain that such instances during violent storms were not unheard of and the office was currently looking into the report.
